Default So is it Fulci's masterpiece?

In the tagline, Shameless describes Don't Torture a Duckling as Fulci's masterpiece - a term I've heard a lot of my fellow Shameless fans using in relation to the film.

So what do you all think? Is it, in fact, Fulci's greatest achievement? Or do you favour some of his other work? Perhaps it's his best giallo but not his best film overall? Or perhaps anyone who suggests it's not his masterpiece should prepare for an ass whooping?

Whatever you're opinion, make it known in this thread!

I've never seen it so am eagerly awaiting the Shameless release to judge for myself.

Beyond & ZFE are my favourites, but I do think Duckling is Lucio's true masterpiece. And it proves he wasn't always a hack, the cemetery scene is a terrific bit of cinema and the ending is one of the genre's finest moments.

It's a wonderful film - far and away Fulci's best.

I do love Duckling, but Lizard is my favourite Fulci film. I also prefer The Beyond and City to Duckling, but it is definitely one of his best.

Also, as a gialli, it's certainly one of my favourites and very hard to beat.

Despite owning Fulci's other Gialli i've yet to watch them so i'll reserve judgement on how DTAD measures up against these fellow efforts until i've viewed all of the relevant murder mysteries.

However, i do admit to preferring the Italian gore guru when he indulged in zombie outings. Personally, i don't think Fulci would ever escape from the shadow of his flesh-tearing forays even though he proved himself capable in different genres of cinema.
