ANOTHER EXCITING WEEK!
I have so much awesomeness for you this week it’s beyond, well, awesome. I have news of an amazing competition in which you, yes you, get to be a hobo (it gets better, I promise), and all kinds of titles winging their way to you from the Labs. There’s a lot to get through so I’m going to get started!
First up is Obsession (Arrow Video, Blu-ray) which is in stores right now. This Brian De Palma classic is an absolutely gorgeous release from Arrow and deserves to be part of your collection so take my advice and get hold of a copy ASAP! It’s worth the price of a Blu-ray player alone… Trust me!

THERE’S SOMETHING GOING ON AT THE LABORATORY
I’m having fun writing this. Just finished watching Series 5 of Doctor Who (birthday present from the other half) and am now watching Star Trek, trying to decide if I fancy Zachary Quinto more than Leonard Nimoy (when he was young Spock, not old Spock). While I’m pondering this, how’s about I catch you up on events at the Labs?
OK, I am by no means the biggest Trekkie on the planet. I only really like the original series and some of the films but the other half is slowly but surely coercing me into watching everything ST so I thought I’d highlight the fact that we do, in fact, have a Star Trek thread. And this is it.
This thread needs no real explanation but if you’re not creatively minded yourself, I suggest you head on over to have a look at the offerings of your fellow Cult Labbers. Pretty much all are brilliant!
Design your own Arrow Video covers
Erm… See above, I guess?

KYLE’S COMP CORNER
I told you this week was exciting. Why? Well, Kyle‘s prize for you this week is a threeway! Er, wait, no, that can’t be right. What? It is. OK… Oh! An Arrow threeway! Well, that makes more sense. To be in with a chance of winning The Kentucky Fried Movie, Slaughter High and Obsession, you need to head over to the Comp Corner now! Good luck…
THE BEST OF THE GRINDHOUSE PROJECT
If you haven’t see it on Cult Labs The GrindHouse Project is the place to find out about cult film screenings, festivals and societies in your local area. Below are BioZombie‘s favourite picks for the next week:
15 July 2011 SANTA SANGRE Cube Cinema – Bristol
The big screen is the perfect place to enjoy Alejandro Jodorowsky’s brand of genius arty weirdness.
18 July 2011 ALIENS Scala Cinema – Prestatyn
Forget Pandora, when it comes to James Cameron planet Ripley is where it’s at.
21 JULY 2011 DIRTY HARRY Electric Cinema – Brimingham
Any punk would be extremely lucky to see this as intended (see what I did there).
Cult film demands to seen on the big screen with an appreciative audience, so head over to The GrindHouse Project and give in to that demand (or else).
