IT’S 11/11/11!

What a puuur-fect married couple. They've only just tied the knot and they already look like they want to kill each other!

Or if you’re American, 11/11/11. It’s very possible that you’re reading this at 11 minutes past 11 o’clock on the 11th of the 11th month, 2011 and are 11.11 seconds in. Or not. Most likely not  Anyway besides the new  horror film, 11/11/11 planned for release,  today is also thought to be especially lucky. Apparently, there’s been an increase in weddings today. Calling marriage lucky however is debatable!

  • Tour Of Duty (Fabulous Films) – Out first this week we have the complete first season of the incredible war drama Tour Of Duty. It was the first television series to dramatise the events of the Vietnamese War, Tour Of Duty was a groundbreaking show that combined breathtaking action with thought-provoking drama while addressing the human elements of the conflict, from issues of racism and culture to suicide, drug abuse, the civilian casualties and the alienation of those soldiers who made it home alive. And what’s more it had one heck of a soundtrack with many brilliant songs – this release is the only edition featuring the original hit-filled soundtrack, including the Canned Heat classic, On The Road Again and Steppenwolf’s Born To Be Wild!   • You'd be a fool to miss this one!

    The Exterminator (Arrow Video, Blu-Ray) – If ever there was a classic slice of 80′s exploitation cake this would be it! With plenty of violence, nudity and unbeatable bad-assery, The Exterminator is a film like no other. It truly is the best of it’s kind and swamps all of its imitators. Arrow’s Blu-Ray release of the film is out now and, as well as top-notch picture and sound quality, also comes with a whole host of extras including an introduction by director James Glickenhaus, Fire and Slice: Making The Exterminator, 42nd Street: Then and Now, audio commentary and of course a booklet and reverse artwork.   • Pray Your Not Blessed

    Deadly Blessing (Arrow Video)  – The release of Wes Craven’s Amish horror is quickly approaching! Out on the 28th November, Arrow Video’s release of the cracking film Deadly Blessing is not only directed by one of the genre’s greats, but also stars such superb talent as Sharon Stone, Ernest Borgnine and the horror favourite Michael Berryman. There’s plenty of Deadly Blessing activity going on over at the Labs, from the Artwork Poll to the ultimate Wes Craven poll. Deadly Blessing is out on the 28th and can be pre-ordered here.

  • The Troll Hunter (Momentum) – For a modern movie to be worthy of the Cult Labs Newsletter, it needs to be something truly special and, along with Rare Exports, The Troll Hunter is just that.  The Sunday Mirror calls it ‘The greatest monster movie since Jurrasic Park,’ Total Film described it as a film that ‘will quite simply blow you away’ and audiences around the world are falling in love with it! THE TWILIGHT ZONE

It’s that time of week again when the Newsletter veers off into uncharted territories, between time and space into a dimension known as The Twilight Zone. This week the featured discussion on the show’s official forum is dedicated to all things funny, so join in the chat and let us know what you think the funniest Twilight Zone episode is and share some Twilight Zone spoofs including one staring a certain Mr. John Candy!  But that’s not all, theres been plenty of activity this week with talk about the 1980s series and lots more!

See this Italian Video Nasty Zombie Film on the big screen!

Fancy seeing Lucio Fulci’s incredible House On By The Cemetery totally uncut and  on the big screen, complete with all the eye-popping gore, creepy zombie and creepier dubbed kid!
