The movie, despite playing with the sequence of events for dramatic effect, deals in the reality of psychotic murder in all it’s disturbing glory. The killer is uniquely human, the victims are ordinary, albeit unlucky people and the heroine is struggling to maintain her own sanity after having a relationship with the man behind the slayings. So, no goofy teen horror here then.

Instead, you get something with a little more weight and a memorably stark approach to dealing with the bread and butter of horror cinema.
