ALL THE BEST CULT RELEASES

There’s tones of great films coming out soon, so here’s an essential run down of the best things to expect…

Corman’s World

The King of Exploitation Cinema is getting the praise he deserves in the upcoming release of the terrific Corman’s World. Full of fascinating info that even the most die-hard fan will love and learn from, this is out on both DVD and Blu-Ray in a couple of weeks (the 26th) courtesy of Anchor Bay Entertainment. What better way to celebrate than with a little bit of T&A? That’s right, it’s X-Rated week on the Corman’s World fan hub. So hurry on over for a naughty bit of fun with articles all about Corman’s rude venture into sexploitation films. Don’t stay on there too long however – you might go blind!

Wilfred

They say a man’s best friend is his dog. So you’d think that a dog who thinks he’s a man would be man’s bestest-best-friend. Well, not in the case of Wilfred, a chain-smoking, dope-puffing  mutt who’s anything but friendly to his owner’s new boyfriend, Adam. For those who have seen the US version of this starring Elijah Wood, you’ll know just how hillarious and clever this show is. Released on DVD earlier this week, both seasons of the original Australian Wilfred features some truly brilliant episodes that out do the American version in every way possible. If you like your comedy with a hint of bizarre, then this cult hit is just what the vet ordered. You’ll be barking mad to miss it! Order yours online now and let the good times roll.

Prisoner: Cell Block H

From top dog of the home to top dog of Wentworth, this week saw the release of the 12th Volume of Prisoner: Cell Block H. Stuffed with gripping storylines, the 12th Volume will have you hooked more than the drugs Bea despises. It’s all here; murder, corruption, spirits, puppies and a cross-dresser. A must have for a fans of the show and  a great place to start for anyone looking for a TV box set to get stuck into this month. If you haven’t done so already, be sure to order yours here. This week’s featured topic is all about your favourite Prisoner based films and TV shows. Are you a fan of The Story Of Ricky, The Green Mile, The Big Bird Cage, Porridge, Prison Break? What’s your favourite? Let us know on this thread!

Kidnap and Ransom

Another gripping TV show out soon on DVD is the recent smash hit Kidnap And Ransom. If you like you’re television viewing dirty, mean and gritty rather than the brainless insipid reality TV fluff, then you may enjoy this! Take a look at this clip for a sneak preview.

Shameless Screen Entertainment

Whilst we all eagarly await news on the Shameless Sexploitation box set and any future releases, there’s plenty of things to get stuck into on the forum. From news that Shameless are considering the possibility of releasing the Naziploitation ‘classic’ SS Experiment Camp (here), to their statement regarding the release of non-Italian films to a thread that asks whether you’d like Shameless to release some Spaghetti Westerns. It’s all on the Official Shameless Forum, so be sure to pop in there. And why not show off your Shameless collection whilst you’re at it?

Arrow

Last but by no means least is one of the reigning champions of Cult Cinema releases; Arrow. There’s been a lot of news lately in regards to their Limited/Unlimited scheme so be sure to get the low down and all the correct information from the Official Statement from Arrow. As well as that, there’s all the topics and news surrounding upcoming releases such as King Of New York, Demons 1 & 2, Forbidden Zone (my personal fav), The House By The Cemetery and tonnes more. Head to Arrow’s official forum for all the details.

WIN! WIN! WIN! BECAUSE WE’RE GENEROUS LIKE THAT!

If you missed out on the chance to win 10 top cult DVD/Blu-Rays on our Facebook page this week, then bad luck (or if you never entered; shame, shame, SHAME on you). But fear not cult lubbers, for this week we’re giving away BOTH seasons of the original Wilfred. It’s simple to enter, just be a good boy, roll over, and head on to this thread to see all the details.

Well, that’s it for this week but remember there are so many ways you can get involved with all the cult film fun at Cult Labs:
