IS IT A BIRD? IS IT A PLANE?

No. It’s…the sun! That’s right, the sun has come out of hiding and has been visiting the UK these past few days. So I’ll keep this week’s newsletter as short as I can so you can all rush out and enjoy the weather. Just think, in a couple of months when Summer is well under way, we’ll all be yearning for some rain and moaning about the heat.

There’s tones of great films coming out soon, so here’s an essential run down of the best things to expect…

A Horrible Way To Die

This week saw the release of the highly-anticipated new horror film, A Horrible Way To Die. Being termed as a ‘Mumblecore Horror’, this film is not your typical hack-n-slash bloodbath of a scare flick. It’s much more artistic, powerful, poetic and grown-up. If you’re after a new film with some very interesting substance or fancy a more mature horror to break up the countless rewatching of Evil Dead II or The Return Of The Living Dead, then look no further than this DVD/Blu-Ray. The Howling Reborn

From a very adult film to a fun angsty adolescent movie…with werewolves! The latest in The Howling series, The Howling: Reborn is a cross between the classic Teen Wolf and the audience-dividing Twilight ‘saga’. With plenty of eye-candy for all orientations, including Landon Liboiron (Altitude, Terra Nova), Lindsey Shaw (Pretty Little Liars) and Ivana Milicevic (Casino Royale, Love Actually as ‘the American Dreamgirl), The Howling: Reborn is perfect for any fans of the werewolf series or young horror fans. Shameless Sexploitation Set

So, who here has already pre-ordered the upcoming Sexploitation box set from Shameless Screen Entertainment? I know I have! Presented in a jaw-droppingly gorgeous package that pays homage to the good ol’ days of the VHS, this set contains three very naughty and very fun exploitation ‘classics’; Joe D’Amato’s The Love Goddess Of The Cannibals, the sexy gothic horror Satan’s Baby Doll, and the totally crazy sexual Star Wars cash-in, The Beast In Space (that includes everyone’s most appetising drink, Anus Milk…). Lots of great stuff going on in the land of Arrow in the Kingdom of Cult Labs this week! A statement about the sound on the Demons steelbook release has been posted as well as a list of dates that Demons will be showing on the big screen! Prisoner: Cell Block H

There’s only three more week’s until the 13th volume of Prisoner: Cell Block H is released in the UK! This region free box set contains 8 dics of some truly unforgettable edge-of-the-seat drama. 13 may be unlucky for some, but not if you’re a Prisoner fan! There is countless attempted prison escapes, weddings within the prison fields and Sonia Stevens (Tina Bursil) joins the inmates. Why is there a hand sticking out of the ground in the garden?
