War Of The Dead

73 years after the Second World War kicked off, the Nazis are at it again! It appears you can never keep a Nazi down…especially one that’s been zombified. The latest addition to the Nazi Zombie genre, War Of The Dead is out now on DVD (order yours here) and these zombies are anything but shuffling and stumbling SS somnambulists. These decaying flesh eaters are quick, jumpy and very, very hunger. Plenty of blood and guts and a strong emphasis on action and horror makes this a must see for any horror, zombie freak. To celebrate its release, the forum has been busy with plenty of discussions. From a Q&A with the film’s director, Marko Mäkilaakso where you can ask him personally anything you like to a thread on Nazis in Movies and the best Nazi Zombie films to some very cool original concept artwork for this film.

If you utter those words, dear reader, your incredible taste of film would be under question. The Raid‘s been in the cinema’s for a while now and it’s still pulling in tonnes of action loving fans and rave reviews. The film takes the action genre to its basics, stripping away the need for CGI and instead gives viewers an adrenaline fueled fist-thumping, ass-kicking, head-slamming thrill ride full of awesome martial arts and plenty of gory violence to please your hungry palettes. If you haven’t seen it yet, what the hell are you waiting for?! Seriously. Stop reading this and go. Catch .44

Also out now is the Anchor Bay DVD & Blu-Ray of the super stylish new Tarantino-esque thriller, Catch. 44. (which can be ordered here). Staring Bruce Willis, Forest Whitaker, Brad Dourif, Marlin Akerman, Nikki Reed and Deborah Ann this is a very sleek slice of cinema that centers around a very tense and twisty-turny gun shoot out show down. It’s gripping, it’s sexy and it’s a must see. Take a look at the forum for the film’s spec threads, your top 5 Bruce moments and your list of cinema’s ultimate baddies.

The Squad

A brand new Official mini-forum has been added to the Cult Labs website this week! The Squad is a terrifying new foreign horror film set during the war that will leave you as a shivering, nervous, psychologically traumatised mess by the end. The film plays with paranoia in a very similar way to such classic films as The Thing and Invasion Of The Body Snatchers and will keep you guessing and wondering at the horrors and whether the characters are simply all insane. Head on over to the official Specs thread for more details on this film! The Squad is out on the 18th of June and you can pre-order your copy here.

Shameless Screen Entertainment

Everyone’s favourite label of exploitative Italian sleaze has caused plenty of discussions this week. Taking the limelight this week is one thread that has been the centre of much eager chit chat. Would you like to see Shameless release the obscure giallo film Formula For A Murder? Lately we’ve had some terrific releases but perhaps it’s time to step away from the cannibals, zombies and sexploitation sci-fi and bring Shameless back to the ‘genre’ its best known for; the good ol’ giallo. What do you think? Come and share your thoughts and vote over on this thread. There’s loads and loads of suggested titles by members on the forum that are well worth taking a look at. From All The Colours Of The Dark, Indiana Jones knock-offs, SS Experiment Camp to Mad Foxes – head over to this section to vote, discuss and share your own. Shameless looks at all of these suggestions, so let them know what you’d like and if they’re popular enough on the forums, you may see your suggested title get a Shameless release!
