THIS WEEK @ CULT LABS: 23RD MAY 2014

Cult Labs Newsletter

Hi film fans, welcome to another Cult Labs’ weekly newsletter. Over on the Cult Labs’ forum this week, we’ve been chatting about more great movies from Godzilla to Army Of Darkness. If you haven’t visited in a while, pop along and join the convo. What type of movies are you obsessed with at the moment? For me, it’s the crazy Kaiju monster movies of the Gamera series!

A big congratulations to Cult Labs’ very own music man, Rik who smashed the 10,000 post milestone! Check out his awesome cover of the Zombi theme here. On with the newsletter…

Shameless Comes To iTunes!

This week, the very first Shameless titles were added to iTunes for fans to rent or buy at the click of a button. Perfect if you’re on the move and need a dose of Shameless exploitation or you fancy watching a film before buying the DVD to your collection. Available from iTunes now are the excellent gialli,  Strip Nude For Your Killer and Argento’s ‘lost’ gem, Four Flies On Grey Velvet, both available in SD and HD. Check it out!

There’s not long until Contraband is released on DVD now. Keep your eye on the official forum this afternoon when we’ll be showing off a very sneak preview of the new release. It’s a great film, totally uncut and with a lenticular cover to die for. Coming to DVD on the 2nd June, visit here to pre-order yours.

The First In Space

Reach for the stars! We’ve all dreamed about blasting off into space and being the first to explore a distant world. Just thinking about the universe blows my mind – it’s just incredible, immense.  Over the past 30/40 years, man has continued the passion and quest to explore the final frontier. From sending fruit flies off into space to putting a man on the moon in just a few years – it’s quite amazing. To celebrate the new release of the stunning film, Gagarin – First In Space, a film based on the true story of the first ever person in space, we’ve created this great list of the greatest firsts in space exploration. Check it out here! If you have a love for the wonders of the universe, you’ll love this movie. Check out the trailer here for more info.

533 Kids

What would you do if you discovered that you had 533 kids? Go crazy or would you give in to your nosey side and find out who they all are…undercover. That’s the basic premise of Delivery Man, the new Vince Vaughn comedy, a remake of a foreign film. It’s touching and funny – perfect for fathers day! Check out the official page for more info.

Calling all petrol-heads!

Do you have a passion for motorsports? Racing? Motorbikes? You may enjoy the great new documentary about the TT Races and the Dunlop brothers, Road. Narrated by Liam Neeson it takes a look at the Dunlop dynasty at it’s peek as well as the heart-breaking funeral of the great Joey Dunlop. Visit the official page for more details.

Well, until next week, take care and keep the Cult alive!
