This week saw the release of one of the most highly anticipated horror DVD/Blu-rays this entire year. Yes, of course, it’s the one and only Arrow Video release of Zombie Flesh Eaters! Ever since The House By The Cemetery was unveiled as one of the first titles on the Arrow Video label, fans have been eager for a release of Fulci’s classic Zombie Flesh Eaters and, finally, the day has come! Crammed with bloody good extras this truly is the ultimate release of the film. Re-watch the classic zombie vs. shark scene and get an eye-full of a certain notoriously painful scene over and over in glorious High-def! If you haven’t already, treat yourself to this DVD/Blu-ray over the weekend.

Coming Soon!

  • Code Name: Geronimo – The hunt for Osama Bin Laden is on! Staring Planet Terror‘s Freddy Rodriguez, William Fichtner (Prison Break) and directed by the director of Paradise Lost and Into The Blue, comes this brilliant war thriller based on recent history’s most terrifying find & destroy missions. Visit the official forum for all the juicy details on this must-see modern war movie.
  • V/H/S – What do you get when you mix anthology horror with Paranormal Activity/Blair Witch-esque horror? One of the most wet-your-pants scary horror films in a very long time! To describe this film as nerve-shreddingly terrifying would be a huge understatement, criminally so. Featuring 5 tales, this film competes with Creepshow for the very best anthology film of all time. Head to the official Tumblr page for pictures, posters and exclusive clips!
  • The Baytown Outlaws – Two words. Freakin’ awesome! Quickly becoming a firm favourite of mine, The Baytown Outlaws is a riot of a deep south action film. A witty adrenaline-pumped movie, the eye-catching cast is superb, the action is jaw-droppingly good,  the soundtrack is tip-top and the plot offers something rather original. What’s not to love?! If you’re a fan of Deep South Movies from Smokey And The Bandit to Killer Joe or, like me, love a good carsploitation film then look no further than this new film. Available on DVD and Blu-ray on Boxing Day, this is a must-own pre-christmas treat. Check out this trailer to see just what I mean…

  • American Mary – Gothic horror was so last century, darling. It’s all about Goth Horror now! Fans of May and Ginger Snaps will love this dark-as-black upcoming film, American Mary. Dare you venture into the realm of body modifcation? Twisted, gory, fresh and fascinating are just some of the lexis to describe this film. What are some of your favourite femme fatale characters from all of cinema? Let us know and take a look at our list over on Letterboxd.
  • Shameless Screen Entertainment – This year has been quite a yellow year! Kicking of in January with the release of Argento’s ‘lost’ classic, Four Flies On Grey Velvet to the latest DVD, The House With Laughing Windows, Shameless have unleased a very nice batch of titles over the past 365 days. But which ones are your favourite? Vote for yours over on the brand new poll!
