Show Me The TV!

The Cult Labs’ forum has a brand new sparkly addition! Show Me The TV is a whole new section dedicated entirely to cult TV shows.   • Curse Of Frankenstein – Out this week from Lionsgate is yet another classic horror film. Hammer’s legendary Curse Of Frankenstein is out now on DVD/Blu-ray double play. This was the first Hammer horror film ever filmed in colour and audiences flocked to see the screen drip with crimson blood. 55 years on, the film is still an undeniable cult classic and a must for any horror fan!   • Apartment 143 – Forget going to see another Paranormal Activity sequel, see something new in the same vein and prepare to be terrified! This creepy film ventures into the realms of poltergeists, demons, possessions and, most evil of all, stroppy teenagers. Intense, creepy and just plain scary. You’ll love this film! Boo!

There’s less than 20 days until the greatest holiday of the year takes place, Hallowe’en! The nights are drawing in earlier and there’s a bitter chill in the air. While horror films are great all year round, it’s October when the scariest and most terrifying films claw their way out of Hell and feast upon the petrified eyes of their viewers. This year, the world will be introduced to one of the most nerve-wrecking horror films of recent years. Staring Ethan Hawke, Sinister is out in cinemas now and is a must see! It’s recieved raving reviews (the Daily Mail’s first 5 star horror release, I believe!) and has already taken the UK box office by storm. So, take along your friends and don’t forget your childhood teddy – you’re going to need it! – to see this years scariest film.

  • Arrow – Out this week are two brilliant Arrow titles!   • Amsterdamned – From Shameless Screen Entertainment comes this slice of European cinema. A dutch take on the giallo ‘genre’, Amsterdamned unravels the mysteries behind a series of brutal and innovative murders. Black gloved killers, a bike chase that puts What Have They Done To Your Daughters to shame and plenty of great gore, makes Amsterdamned a very welcome, if interesting, addition to the Shameless catalogue.
