Two Fat For 40 (cert. 15) will be released on DVD (£19.99) by Mediumrare Entertainment on 23rd January 2012.

What is Chuffa? It’s a question that director Kevin Smith had ask himself when he was directing Hollywood royalty Bruce Willis during his time on the movie Cop Out. Is it a type of rodent indigenous to California or is it the kind of extraneous dialogue that a big marquee name to whom no one ever says no can simply remove from the scene, even if it does drive the screenwriter to drink.

Kevin Smith explains all in this exclusive clip from the upcoming UK DVD of Too Fat For 40, another epic length Q&A/Stand-up peformance from the cult director of Mallrats and Clerks. What’s great about Smith is that, although he writes and directs movies, he’s looks and sounds like a fanboy most of the time. As he discusses in the show, making films with what is essentially an extended family of friends and colleagues is very different to stepping onto a set with the guy from Die Hard…

Monsters (cert. 12) will be released on DVD (£17.99) and Blu-ray (£19.99) by Vertigo Films on 11.04.2011.

“Nominated for a BAFTA for Outstanding Debut, writer-director (and cameraman) Gareth Edwards would have been a far more deserving winner than Chris Morris for Four Lions.” – REVIEWED ONLINE

“Which ever way you look at it, Monsters is an amazing debut feature for writer/director/cinematographer Gareth Edwards, who gives us a whole new perspective on the Invading Creatures genre.” – FLASH BANG MOVIES

“There have been some high profile sci fi movies so far this year – Avatar, Inception and Skyline, for example. This is by far the best, and by far the cheapest. Try and see it.” – FRONT ROW FILMS

READ MORE ABOUT MONSTERS...

“With its gorilla film making techniques, on-location shots and no actors, bar the main two leads; Monsters is anything but a mega budget effect film, but something so much better and deeper.” – ATTACK FROM PLANET

“His alien octopi are awesome and awful, looming and luminous, otherworldly and fully integrated into his film’s world – an unprecedented achievement that looks greater still when a bonus featurette tells us Edwards nailed all 250 effects on his own over a mere five months.” – TOTAL FILM

“Monsters is a superb film made by a dedicated crew who delivered a final product that simply does not exist in the mainstream. I strongly encourage everyone to take time out of their lives to sit and watch this film. It may not be perfect but it’s a meaningful and considerate science fiction drama that deserves all the plaudits it gets.” – FILMWERK

Gareth Edwards could be the future of cinema. It is a bold statement but what his debut film Monsters achieves makes this more than plausible. On the one hand Edwards creates a stunning blockbuster world filled with corruption and all manner of sinister creatures and on the other he takes a B-movie premise and rams it full Oscar worthy drama, romance and subtle narrative techniques” – FILM JUICE

“Forever in between genres Monsters could easily have become muddled. Instead the subtlety and refusal to confine itself is what gives the film its strength. Favouring atmosphere over thrills it weaves together aliens, road trip and indie romance with effortless ease.” – RHYTHM CIRCUS
