The King Maker (cert. 15) will be released on DVD (£15.99) by Anchor Bay Entertainment on 21st March 2011. Features include trailer and 2.0 stereo and 5.1 Dolby audio options.

GARY STRETCH

THE KING MAKER represents a lead role for Gary Stretch whose ecletic career has taken in professional boxing, film roles and, if you have the time for a quick Youtube search, the kind of meditation videos that Steven Seagal would probably endorse.

His acting credits include the critically acclaimed Dead Men’s Shoes and major Hollywood Multiplex movies like Alexander and World Trade Centre. The King Maker represents a chance to star in a movie with respected British thesp John Rhys-Davies. Like many a good journeyman actor in recent years, he’s also been dragged into the orbit of the giant killer fish shlock currently astounding TV viewers and DVD maniacs, with an upcoming apperence in Megashark Vs Crocosarus also in the offing.

As you may remember, last year, Shameless Screen Entertainment released Enzo G. Castellari’s The Bronx Warriors Trilogy as a boxset. Now you’ll be able to get your hands on each of the films individually – great news for anyone keeping their boxset in mint condition!

Somewhat unsurprisingly, the first film to be announced is The Bronx Warriors. For those of you who perhaps missed the box sets, here’s the low down:

In the year 1990 the Bronx is officially declared a no man’s land. The authorities have given up all attempts to restore law and order leaving the area to be ruled by a gang known as the Riders. When Anne, the 17 year old daughter of an arms industrialist, rebels against her father’s tyrannical business practices and runs away, she ends up in the Bronx. There, she soon finds herself under the protection of the Riders’ leader, Trash. But, determined to get Anne back, her father hires a ruthless, psychopathic mercenary to infiltrate the Bronx and turn the gang members against each other.

Special Features: Remastered anamorphic widescreen presentation; “Warriors, Barbarians and Basterds” – all-new 20-minute interview with director Enzo G. Castellari and editor Gianfranco Amicucci; Enzo G. Castellari’s introduction of his films; Shameless Fact Track by Paul Alaoui; original film trailers and alternate credits; Collector’s Gallery from archive materials.

The Bronx Warriors will be released on DVD (£12.99) by Shameless Screen Entertainment on 11 October 2010.
