He wrote 3, actually. Two UK books and one US edition. I have all three and I think you're right, he's a Hammer fan. I had one of them when I was a kid - Monsters and Vampires - and it was like my bible as to what films to watch out for on TV (no video back then). And it had a still from
Living Dead at the Manchester Morgue which gave me the creeps a bit - but I still wanted to see it! It was quite a few years later before I did actually get a chance to watch it for myself.
