Basically just listed the same item at the price I wanted to buy the discs from to see if they would undercut me by a penny as they always did when I was genuinely selling stuff (making sure to describe the item as defective/in a way no-one would want to buy it). And they either did or just reduced their price to about 50p or so above what I was selling mine for.
Perhaps not the most ethical thing to do but I keep telling myself that they wouldn't be selling things at these prices if they didn't want to. Plus, knowing how little they pay for other people's discs to sell on at an inflated price (having once tried to sell them discs in the past myself) it doesn't really bother me too much
It was mainly born out of an experiment in frustration when I was trying to sell dvds on Play and realised there was no way I was ever going to shift them, no matter how much I reduced my prices.
Over the past few days I've bought about 8 dvds, 3 blurays and 2 cds and it's cost me £25. I think that's my spending done for the month now though!
