Really enjoyed it.
If I was to nit pick a couple of things it would be that I think the kid was a really good child actor, and that some of the narration wasn't necessary. I think he performed well enough that you could see what was going through his head.
Plus, would you really leave your child alone with that monstrosity?!
But anyway, who cares, good fun, and I definately agree with the Evil Dead vibe.
