What are your thoughts? Does anyone here adore this film like I do?

I think it was probably the first silent film I saw. I got the video out of the library when I was 15 or so, and it blew my teenage mind  I remember going through it, scene by scene, pausing it, and trying to draw pictures of the expressionist sets through the VHS wobble  ...

I must have been around 8 or 9 years old when I first saw this on telly. Not sure why I don't own it.

Yep, this and Nosferatu really are a cornerstone of any Horror collection. I'd also recommend folks track down the Swedish ghost story silent The Phantom Carriage... It's not Horror, but Fritz Lang's 1924 fantasy Die Nibelungen is also highly recommended, and far superior to the Lord of the Rings series...

It's one of my favourite films of all time (possibly even top ten). Both beautiful and haunting.
