A lot more time to mess around with my list and argue with myself on whether a film is horror or not then!

If you haven't seen Hausu yet, I seriously urge every one to see it. It can't really be classified, but it's almost like Scooby Doo on acid or something.

It's a really bizarre trip of a film. Glad you enjoyed the experience!

Anyone mentioned It's Alive yet? Certainly not a top tenner, but any film that wrings pathos for a rubber mutant baby in a final shoot out in the LA sewers deserves consideration. The lead actors play it straight which helps a lot and the whole thing has a somewhat unique atmosphere somewhere between kitchen sink and grind house (Deathdream - another contender, is similar) First sequel also good, but part 3 stinks.

Yeah I got it up there in the top 50 somewhere. Straight playing really does make the difference, it means there is some belief in the film even if it's not the viewers!
Demoncrat likes this.

I'm not a fan of It's Alive, but Deathdream is a great film.I've got the BU DVD which I've only watched once, but I thought it was a well made horror flick with some very good acting.Tom Savini's make-up FX were excellent too! I'll have to dig out my copy for another watch.
