A Phantasm film is always welcoming, but at 87,surely Angus Scrimm isn't reprising The Tall Man?

Just what I was thinking, but I really can't see anyone else in a role he made his own. Well I can't wait hope it ties up all the lose ends

Of course. This is probably his last chance and it'll be good to see him one more time (if it's actually happening. Still a little sceptical tbh).

Angus Scrimm is reportedly in this one, reprising his role as the Tall Man. It's directed by some chap called David Hartman with Coscarelli supervising. But, apparently, in John Dies At the End, a DVD cover for Phantasm V can be seen in the background.

But, like Stephen, I'm also a little sceptical. I'm simply reporting what is being reported elsewhere. Guess we'll know soon enough whether this is genuine or not. But as this news is only just breaking it's probably too early to tell what is actually going on.

Anyone remember a few years back, 2008/2009, it was reported that a new Phantasm project was in the works? There was even a pic of Reggie floating around (looking older than we last saw him in part 4). Could be that the film was in the can then, or, God forbid, it's taken them 5 years to finish it.

First trailer for Phantasm raVager. Still not convinced this was filmed recently (in the last 2 years as it says). Although you only seen a few quick glimpses of Scrimm, he looks older now than he does in the shot of him on his homeworld/dimension, whatever you want to call it..

It sounds a little strange to me. Don Coscarelli has written and directed all of the other films in the series, so the idea that he has allowed someone else to make the next installment seems more than a little odd. Since we are rapidly approaching April Fools' Day, I do have serious doubts about all of this!

Never thought of that. But I doubt that's what it is. I don't see many people being happy, or seeing the funny side. In fact, I'd probably be one of many people to take to twitter to personally call him a c**t.

You just never know, and everybody is entitled to have their own sense of humour. If the whole thing is legitimate then fair enough, but as I say it seems very odd if Don has let someone else take the reins.

If there really is a fifth installment in the series then I hope that it holds up to quality of the other films.
