I saw the first T.C.M movie in 1998 when it was re released on VHS with The Exorcist and A Clockwork Orange. I enjoyed it but did wonder why it was banned but 70s movies were a bit shocking, The Horror Channel showed T.C.M part 2 and I found it more funny than horror. The third was not bad and the fourth was like a bad attempt at a remake. I watched the remake and really enjoyed. The prequel was a bit dull, the came Texas Chainsaw 3D that was meant to be the sequel to the original 1974 movie which threw out T.C.M part 2. Why didn't film makers just follow suit of the remakes instead of adding in movies between originals.

TCM is such a classic. It's still scary to this very day. I think it's much more timeless than the exorcist for example. It feels much more real and like it could just happen to you in real life.

I agree its still got that clout to it even now, its how its made with tension and atmosphere which a lot of today's films lack , and fact the film contains practically no gore or violence, but to give the film more of a grubby feel I'm sure I read somewhere they didn't wash or change clothes for most of filming the film .

Quote:
While the shoot took place over five weeks, the events of the actual film all occur within 24 hours. Consequently, the cast had to wear the same clothes each day. Burns's costume ended up caked in both fake and real blood, while Gunnar Hansen, who had to wear a bloodstained butcher's apron, has stated that, by the end of filming, he smelt so bad that no one would sit next to him at lunch At the same time, the food used during the dinner scene was left in a very hot room for the duration, and it had become rotten, stinking the place out!

Is this one like a prequel to Texas chainsaw massacre: The Beginning or am I reading it wrong? Some reviews I read on IMDB aren't painting a pretty picture of it, from the trailer I seen this film does look good.

Apparently it's (another) prequel to the original 1974 film, explaining the origins of Leatherface (again)!

I’ll only buy it for completions sake and if it’s cheap, because it’s not all that good tbh
