Well im not surprised that is sold out, i can only hope Mark Kermode will be attending and will share his thoughts. however will a print be making it's way to Nottingham? we have a great cinema culture here but my larger experience is that smugness over powers the film selection. so the Wicker Man may be left aside.

Can anyone find out where else it will be shown? i am still trying to find out myself but admit at this point i may need some help.

Hopefully somewhere in Scotland will be screening it!

It would be a poor show if they didn't, now im not living in Scotland anymore i regret not having the opportunity of visiting the locations in the film. but what would be really cool is to hire a print and screen it in (or outside of) the green man pub!

im going to call a few cinemas here in Nott's to see if they are planning on getting a print, i really want to see this version of the film on the big screen.

Is the Steelbook version definitely missing out on a disc of extras or is it just dodgy listings? I don't care about the soundtrack disc, but I do want the other special features.

I have asked a local cinema to screen the new wickerman for me however i think i will have a better chance of i can get people who would be up for the screening also like a pre oder of tickets. can anyone help me find out how many people would be up for visiting Nottingham (City Centre-ish) to see this print of the film? Reaper do you know of any midlands Wicker Man fan groups? lol.

I also want to know this as I've ordered the steelbook. Anyone any the wiser or is it just a case of wait and see?

Wouldn't be surprised if the steelbook was the blu-ray disc, and an exact duplicate on dvd, judging by the Double Play moniker.

Here's the thing - I know some people were hoodwinked by the opening scroll at the beginning of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, pretending the film was a true story ("The film you are about to see...") but for years I though The Wicker Man was shot on an island, and there was some truth to the dedication title - not that that islanders were sacrificing virginal cops or anything, but that they had certain esoteric customs. Anyway, the joke was on me...

Thanks, if this is the case it's getting cancelled. :-(

Me too and it puts me in a bit of a dilemma really. As much as I like the look of that steelbook (and I already own the soundtrack), I don't want to miss out on what look like very interesting extras. Surely the steelbook wouldn't be lacking to this extent?!!
