Looks like you are the one which doesn't like "dated" films.

Would you guys be fine with doing a best of 2012 horror films? Which shouldn't take that long, say give that a month for a deadline. Then follow that with 70s horror? The reason I want to do 2012 horror is so I can really try to find some hidden gems. We can use Rotten Tomatoes dates for 2012 horror films, as they do a better job with recent film release dates than IMDB.

Thats good with me. Might be a shortish list though.

I've just been through a list on Wiki and the only three i've seen in ranking order are -

1 - Berberian Sound Studio
2 - The Woman in Black
3 - American Mary

I haven't seen many from 2012, either: That would be my least preferred option.

'70s would be my preferred choice.

Nice job with the '80s list so far though, justin.

Yeah, it will be a short list, but I mainly just want this excuse to pimp the hell out of Excision. Each list should be at least 5 movies long, and we have a month to watch what we need, so you should be able to add a couple to your list.

I do want these to be fun though, and not feel like a chore, so 70s is next up. Once I finish the countdown, I can start the preliminary thread for this project. I figure another 3 month watching period is in order, as personally I still have a handful of classics I need to see to go along with some underrated films yet to be uncovered.

I've been burnt so often in the past buying modern horror films on their release days that i never bother until i can pick them up for less than a fiver.

I'm around 18 months to two years behind. Except on certain films like the three mentioned above which i know i'll like.

I didn't care for it, but Cabin in the Woods is listed as 2012 on Rotten Tomatoes. If this project picked up it would be eligible.
