Rumours, dreams and dust.. Who knows the truth? Not me, for sure. I just remember how long it took to get out in the first place (kudu's to CR!!) so I won't be holding my breath waiting on this.
Yes, it's a bootleg release as well. They are ignoring the right's owner.

If substandard materials are being used for this then i really hope the finished product will be superior to the dvd or else the internet will be seething at Bill and we know how he reacts to this type of thing.
Substandard?
That's all there is left to work with.

Probably to offer something to compete with the inevitable hardbox/mediabook limited to 500 copies the german edition will likely be.

"hey this ones on blu-ray!"

or maybe i'm just getting cynical in my old age?

Nothing wrong with being cynical...especially when you're right!
Sad, I know, but I'll end up buying both...

hey guys, first of all, XT VIDEO is not a german, but an austrian company.

and:

the mediabook and (yesterday's released) hardboxes by XT VIDEO are NOT bootlegs in any way.

there was some discussion going on in austrian movie forums about the statement of the code red-label owner, and either he is badly mistaken and mis-informed about the rights he own, or he is just angry they put out another dvd release before he could release the BD.

XT Video claims that the transfer just released by them has a different runtime and is anamorphic, and much better quality than the code red release. and they have the licence to release this. they would not put out a bootleg, XT VIDEO is a well respected film label in german speaking countries.
