The year I was born, there's only one choice really....

VIDEODROME.

Cronenberg's finest film, James Woods' finest performance, and one of the best taglines ever. LONG LIVE THE NEW FLESH

Was going to agree with Videodrome or go with Christine. Love 'em both, but then I saw the post that Threads was released this year.

This will be the one for me. I absolutely shitted myself when I watched this. Still have the image of a milk bottle melting whilst a woman pisses herself in the street as the mushroom cloud goes up, embedded in my mind.

Very dark and gloomy film, and if you haven't seen it, you must. Probably won't have the same impact now as it did in the "Itchy trigger finger" 1980's, but it's still very scary shit.

Christine was a lot of fun so that gets my vote.

I've just realised that Angst, The Dead Zone, and Xtro are missing from my 'Runners Up' list. Shame on me.

Curses! I haven't seen Angst or Xtro either, so onto the wishlist they go.

There's a very good Xtro set on region 1 which includes Xtro 2 and the best twenty minute director interview ever.

Xtro & Xtro 2 DVD 1982 Region 1 US Import NTSC: Amazon.co.uk: Bernice Stegers: Film & TV

A bargain at under £5 delivered.

I've had a look on DVD Compare and it says there is a long cut and a short one with a happy ending -- is there a release with both versions?

I've added this (under the title Bloody Birthday) to my Lovefilm rental queue along with Xtro 1, 2 and 3.

Yep XTRO is a Brit classic!
Maryam D'Abo does a nice setpiece....

Good to see Christine getting a mention as well.
