"Un Chant d'amour"

Playwright, novelist and jailbird, Jean Genet made this short film in 1950 before disowning it later in his life as he was never sure if it was art or pornography. It's porn. Basically it's 25 silent minutes of men in prison cells wanking, with a bit of rape chucked in for good measure. That said, it's quite beautiful to look at and at times captures the more erotic moments of his novels with recurring images of sensual smoking and sweat running down muscular chests. Worth a look if you're interested in the history of underground film.

"Pink Narcissus"

Made over a 7 year period in his flat, James Bidgood's "Pink Narcissus" is an epic ode to the male form and highly stylised ultra exotic/erotic imagery. Like Genet's film this too is dialogue free but makes great use of music and sound effects. This is excellent, even more so, given it's production history which is detailed in an interview with the director on the BFI release. The best way I can describe it is to liken it to Kenneth Anger getting it on with Liberace. Here's a couple of pics of it's less outrageous moments.
