I've also been listening to "Throbbing Gristle's Greatest Hits", a band that have always left me rather indifferent to their sound but after constantly hearing their praise being sung on Cult Labs, I thought I'd give them a go. As luck would have it, there are some shiny new releases out so I went for the "Greatest Hits" and I'm loving it. Thanks to Thehamish, Wes and anyone else who has mentioned them in the past.
I've got Volume one of Afro Noise and I heartily agree with you. Whilst I don't dig out my Whitehouse back catalogue regularly, this stuff is easily the best thing that Bennett's done, well for me anyway.
Two of my favourite musical elements combine - traditional drumming and abstract electronics - a big, big, big recommend from em too.

I don't think you've done anything wrong in reappraising TG. Some of their stuff is absolutely sublime and I always like to go back and 'rediscover' elements of their work.
Chris Carter's solo output is worth a punt too, especially as he was the key 'music' provider for me within TG and his sonic fingerprint is pretty obvious, but I'm a sucker for nearly anything electronic.
