I'm not totally up-to-date when it comes to shooting a movie, but I guess it's easier to "preview" certain digital effects when you shoot a flick digitally. But that's just speculation on my part.

Exactly. The all complain about the silly dialogues of
DP - they aren't silly at all, if you're into movies and if you like it when a director reflects on cinema (because that's exactly what Tarantino does all the time)!
