I've just never understood this. Its just a bunch of folk who swear a lot and a bloke who lives in the wardrobe. Its not scary, its not gory, its just nothing. When i watched the dvd a couple of years back i was sooo underwhelmed.

Please someone say why its worth me watching again.
Not only is it one of the first 'modern' slashers, it has also never been equaled (in my opinion). As for why I like it... well, for me, it contains the perfect blend of suspense to kills ratio (plus the killings are fairly nasty); plus, the derangement where the killer is concerned appeals a great deal, and I also like the Christmassy setting. The characters also seem very 'real' - none of this dumb bimbo and charicature bullshit that plagues many slashers. As slashers go, it's very believable in a lot of ways.

...and it also has Olivia Hussey AND John Saxon.
