It was better than I was expecting but I agree with you about the dialogue and the characterisation. Some truly cringe worthy dialogue and I also didn't care for the scenes straight out of the exorcist.

Overall though I think it's worth seeing and one of the better remakes like maniac and MBV. The on screen violence, gore and cinematography was well done. It could have been a whole lot worse.
