It seems to me that the label has lost its way somewhat. When you consider how many gialli, poliziotteschi and other interesting Italian language films from the 60s, 70s and 80s have been given good quality, albeit non-English friendly, releases on DVD in Italy, then the masters for such releases obviously exist. Is the only reason preventing such interesting releases the fact that copyright holders are requesting too much money for UK home video rights? |
Bet you would faint or laugh out loud if you knew what some companies want for the rights to release in the the UK, in the late nineties a certain nasty Nazi title was rumored to be well into six figures in dollars even before going before the BBFC (to be rejected again no doubt)
