I saw a later version of The Mama's and The Papa's in the late 80's, when they consisted of original member John Philips, Mackenzie Phillips (taking Michelle Phillips' part}), Elaine McFarlane (taking the part of Cass Elliot) and Scott McKenzie (taking the part of Denny Doherty)
During the set, McKenzie did a version of this, and the front of the stage was filled with people handing out flowers!
