It was the album, or rather lead single I Want it All, that first brought Queen to my attention. I'd never really listened to them before seeing the video on tv and was blown away by such a great yet simple rocker. The Flash soundtrack aside, which always seemed more novelty than proper album, the band were in the midst of their disco / non-rock phase whilst i was discovering music so this album was a real eye opener.
As for the album itself. It has some superb tracks - I Want it All, The Invisible Man, Breakthru, Scandal, and Was it all Worth It?, the rest is fairly light weight fluff. |
I think
The Miracle is an excellent album, but my favourites are
The Game and
The Works.
Hot Space is definitely going to be an acquired taste and will take many more listens than the others until I work out whether I really like it or not.
