I embarked on a similar pursuit a few years ago and watched all 7 series in order
. It's a shame the series took a bit of a nosedive after series 5. Some of the later episodes, like 'On the Omnibuses' are truly awful and difficult to get through! It was only when Stan left and they brought Olive's character to the fore that you realised how irritating she was and started to sympathise with old 'Arfur's plight!
