A good guitarist should play from the heart, and with feeling
Too many guitarists think that it is all style over content - the faster you play, the better a musician you are!
Gilmour doesn't need to play fast, neither does Clapton or Hendrix or Townshend or Blackmore or Page etc
Of course there are exceptions to this rule - Gary Moore is an incredible player who uses feeling as well as speed, as is Tony Iommi
Eddie Van Halen is a one-trick muso, who has been using the same trick for over 30 years.
