Default Weekly Comp - Wolves - 2nd March 2015 - FINISHED

Hi everyone,

Here's a fun competition that should get you scratching your head (hopefully). The prize is great too! Here's what you can win this week...

Wolves

Lost Boys meets Teen Wolf

David Hayter, screenwriter of X-Men and The Watchmen, proves he’s got some serious bite behind the camera with his directorial debut. Packed with blood, fights and plenty of frights WOLVES stars Game of Thrones’ Jason Momoa and X-Men’s Lucas Till, you’d be howling mad to miss this this dark and deliciously sharp horror.

Key talent:

Lucas Till (X-Men: Days of Future Past, Stoker)

Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones, Conan the Barbarian)

Merritt Patterson (The Hole, Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief)

Stephen McHattie (300, Shoot ‘Em Up, Watchmen)

Synopsis:

When high-school student Cayden (Till) finds his parents have been brutally murdered, he goes on the run and arrives in the small town of Lupine Ridge, where he discovers the hairy truth to his nature…

The town is home to feuding clans of werewolves, and when Cayden starts to fall for the beautiful Angelina (Patterson) he finds himself as love-rival of brutal clan alpha and pureblood lycan Connor (Momoa). But can Cayden survive and get the girl as the werewolves prepare for a fight to the death?

You'll Love It Because...

As no stranger to innovative genre writing, Hayter’s script is packed with razor sharp wit – it not only has fun with the werewolf myth, but also reinvents it for modern horror fans, creating a genuinely original twist in the tail.

But while it’s a coming-of-age tale at heart, Wolves doesn’t hold back on the action and horror either. There’s plenty for fans of both old school monster movies and modern horror cinema, while it still feels like a throwback to the bloodline of 1980s teen horrors, such as The Lost Boys.

Especially brilliant is Wolves’ use of retro practical effects over CGI, recalling the transformations and make-up from classics such as The Wolf Man, An American Werewolf in London and The Howling.

There’s also a hugely enjoyable cast, as rising stars Lucas Till and Merritt Patterson making for a charming leading pair, and genre favourite Jason Momoa sinks his teeth into his villainous role with bloodthirsty relish. It’s a howler.

TO WIN...

Here's a totally new competition that I haven't done on here before. It's very simple but may require some thinking - so pop on those thinking caps and get...thinking.

Werewolf movies are all about transformation and Wolves is no exception! So, below you'll find a list of clues. Each one consists of three separate words.

You just need to figure out what other word you could add to each three of those words to create three cult movie titles. So for instance, if it was...

SHEEP - SWAN - FISH

Then after some thinking, you'll work out that the answer is Black, since adding 'Black' to each of the words will give you three movie titles; Black Sheep, Black Swan and Blackfish. Get it?

Now the word you add could be either before or after any of the supplied words. Here are the clues you'll need to work out...

1) MAN - GIRLS - HOLOCAUST

2) TOKYO - KUNG FU - LAND

3) THE - SNOW - LEAVES

4) WORLD - BREAKERS - BUSTERS

5) CHERNOBYL - ZOMBIE - VAMPIRE

6) SMALL - DOG - TOY

7) DEMOLITION - RUNNING - MARATHON

8) FIRST - TRUE - FEAST

9) CODE OF - GREAT - DEAD

10) MAN - NEAR - CRYSTAL

Once you know the answers, just Private Message me your guesses.

Don't worry, you don't need to get all 10 to win. Whoever gets the most correct will win - so do as many as you can. They're pretty easy when you get the hang of it.

At the end of the week, this competition will end and THREE lucky winners will be rewarded with a copy of Wolves. So, plenty of chance you'll win!

Good luck - have some fun,

Kyle
