Deicide formed in Tampa Florida in 1987 under the Amon founded by bassist and vocalist Glen Benton and drummer Steve Asheim they were joined by the Hoffman brothers Eric and Brian until they departed in 2004. In 1989 they changed their name to Deicide and in 1990 they released their full length debut the self titles album Deicide.
