Peturbator do retro instrumentals based around certain films and/or their themes.

It's basically like they're re-scoring the film from scratch based on how they interpret it should/could be. They've produced some quite interesting material.
Sinoia Caves are similar in the case that the style of music they produce is very soundtrack-esque, although they don't really 'homage' films as such. They did do the OST for Beyond the Black Rainbow though:
