Low expectations can of course help, but it really is a joy to watch Arnold reprise this role and the film moves briskly along through a succession of inventively staged action set-pieces. Some of the gags fall flat and Jai Courtney awkwardly sticks out as Kyle Reese, but even he's not nearly as terrible as I'd feared he'd be.
Overall, better than T3 and Salvation, but still not a patch on Cameron's first two.
Screwiest time travel logic EVER, though. |
I 2nd that emotion! went in with fairly low expectations and was pleasantly surprised, there are not many areas left to explore in the ever cascading world of skynet and killing machines but this turned out to be a solid action/sci-fi movie, Arnie can indeed still hold his own and Emilia Clarkes performance was very competent, never once do they allow you to get bored, and you just get swept along in the time travelling, energetic shock wave. They definitely need to make this the last in the series but we all know they won't!
