It's a love-hate sort of thing. I adore everything about it, but some people I know detest the show and I can understand why, it is an acquired taste. The general consensus is it goes downhill before a late return to form.
If you're interested, the Gold Box (seasons 1,2 and both pilots) is only around the £12/13 mark. I paid around £40 for a Dutch import a couple of years back.
