To be released second quarter 2016. It Came From Outer Space was Jack Arnold’s first foray into science-fiction filmmaking, in which he became acknowledged as an auteur. He later went on to create more science-fiction classics such as Tarantula and The Creature of the Black Lagoon, the latter also made in 3D. The film broke new grounds in science-fiction with the “invaders” who had only arrived to save their species, intending no harm to humans, being given a more sympathetic reception than aliens seen as a threat in earlier films.

A fireball crashes to earth near the desert home of amateur astronomer John Putnam (Richard Carlson), who races to the landing site to discover a spaceship which is quickly covered by a landslide. With the evidence gone, the authorities are sceptical that Putnam really saw a spaceship land. Are the invaders peaceful or is their purpose on Earth more sinister?

Find out in this spectacularly filmed movie from the Golden Age of 3D filmmaking!

Director: Jack Arnold
Aspect ratio: Academy original 1.37-1
