As for the Coen brothers, they are amongst my favourite filmmakers, and Hail, Caesar! is the best comedy they've made in a long time – probably since O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Ralph Fiennes is absolutely superb, and the "Would that it was so simple" scene with him and Alden Ehrenreich had me crying with laughter – the clip below doesn't quite do it justice because the build up and pay off aren't there. |
Agree on falling down. Adore The Lost Boys too but we won't go there.
As for the Coens. Some of their stuff is exceptional, Millers Crossing, The Big Lebowski, Fargo. O, Brother Where Art Though however i hated. Found it an unfunny barely watchable mess.
