C4 once showed
Locust uncut. The DVD basically removes the cockfight, bar shots of the birds approaching each other (similar to the cuts in
Far From The Madding Crowd and
Return Of The Seven).
Locust itself is a brilliant film with a genuinely eye-popping ending and eerie John Barry score. The boy trampled to death by Donald Sutherland is now Freddy Krueger.
There are horsefalls in
Django but the BBFC have never cut them, even for the old Arthouse video. They must have evidence to prove that they were done without harm to the animals concerned.
