Having looked it up on IMDB, none of the characters have the same names as the 1960 film. They should have called it something else. Perhaps QT nicked their original idea.
It's easy to be negative about a remake of a classic but considering the track record of remakes there's no wonder. Besides Fuqua's interpretation of
The Equalizer was really poor in my opinion.
