I got into Blu-ray a bit later than most (except Dem  ) so have been playing 'catch-up' ever since. I think it's the bane (and joy) of the collector that the wish-list just keeps on growing rather than shrinking. I guess numbers don't really factor into it though, as no matter how big your collection is it's how happy you are with it that matters... quality over quantity and all that; although I bet most wouldn't be able to find a lot of 'quality' in mine. I bet your collection is a lot more 'Sight and Sound' than mine is.
Then again i do have steelbooks of things like
My Darling Clementine and new Criterion releases like
Only Angels Have Wings have been in my collection for years, admittedly not with a fancy sniffy Criterion banner just Columbia classics.
Probably we aren't too dissimilar i guess.
