It's been almost 18 months since i watched the first series and i wasn't sure i'd get into it immediately. However i was wrong. Some terrific plotting put all the characters in exciting situations and i was torn about turning it off at 5:10am to go to bed.
I've always liked the idea of pirate lore and the Caribbean, so a series with a decent budget, familiar pirates - Vane, Silver, Calico Jack, Anne Bonney etc - healthy amounts of shagging, lashings of violence and sea battles - was always something i'd love and it's a prequel to Stephenson's Treasure Island.
Way better than Game of Thrones in my opinion. |
Funny enough around the same time last night i went up to the loft and watched an excellent episode of Thriller. A Place To Die, an excellent excursion into satanic cult/wicker man territory.
