If like me you remember this version of the Robert Louis Stevenson tale from when it originally aired, albeit only slightly, you'll be pleased to know it remains an enjoyable and even captivating viewing experience, with it's haunting Celtic theme tune still going round in my head as i type. Already we've had the battle of Culloden, betrayal, murder, slavery and a ship wreck with much more to come.
A series far superior to the 1971 film starring Michael Caine, this is definitely recommended viewing for any lovers of archive tv. | The film is hysterical though. Oh my sides etc.
