Seriously, I paid £20 for copies so blurry I could barely see them, all this Ultra HD, 4k is a bit of a technophile's toy shop thing, I mean how much clearer does a film have to be to enjoy it?
I'm actually of the opinion that modern films that are too sharp, too clear don't look real, case in point, Lord of the Rings movies looked astounding, there was dirt hitting the camera & they were shot on film, then Tintin & The Hobbit films come along & they look like videogames they're so sharp they don't look real! Ironic from the man who gave us the very low budget Bad Taste!
The number of features we're getting is also amazing! Remember when a commentary was a rare thing? Now they're standard fare and not very interesting in all honesty, lol! And there are just too many, I think Hostel had five commentaries! Really want to get city of the dead but don't know if I'll wade through all 3 commentaries on it!
