I haven't quite gotten fully into Ulver yet, but loved Bergtatt – Et eeventyr i 5 capitler and Perdition City, although it's difficult to work out where to go next due to genre hopping. I heard Assassination of Julius Ceaser is synthpop???
Boards of Canada on the other hand are one of the best artists I've discovered in recent years, but at the same time infuriating in how unique and mysterious they are. Music has the Right to Children is such a great album, and closest thing I've found to them so far is Oneohtrix Point Never's Replica.
I would love to know more about how BoC do their thing, what equipment, sampling processes etc.
