The Empire Strikes Back set the standard. The Last Jedi is a pale imitation of a "true" classic. This is Star Wars without the magic and wonderous imagination of the original films. Just bits tacted on that make the film look slightly different.
Very tragic.
As I said in the past. Star Wars died when Return of the Jedi ended in 1983. Though Lucas did try to inject some thought and creative direction with the prequels. Disney just want's to play it safe and rake in the cash. |
I have a lot of reasons why I am not excited, as I said before, after episode 7; I got more and more wound up about, especially the more I thought of what I saw. On top of that a couple of issues based on the trailer. 1 - Kylo Ren is still a character that's torn. Why? If anything he should be much more angry and more determined after getting beat by rey. 2 the scene with atat walkers is probably going to be derivative of the battle of hoth. So, I'm happy to wait for it to come out on blu ray. Also there are more interesting movies coming out around.December anyway
