No wonder the 1m 40s cut stayed in my memory. That's a huge chunk, yet doesn't turn the film unwatchable.
ABUK really did a god job with the editing of this and the other Francos IMHO, yet I guess one has to have grown up with the BBFC to fully understand how they pick out the scenes they feel "worthy" of some trimming.
Most of the flicks they passed with cuts- like "Maniac" or (previously) "Last House"- wouldn't get off the hook in Germany even in the BBFC altered version, so I guess you guys can be somewhat "lucky" that it's only the BBFC looking out for your "best interest"....
