Away from the big hitters the majority of 80's bands are still going with many still making superb new albums such as thrashers
Kreator and
Testament.
LA Guns have just released a very strong album too as an example of the sleazier side still being relevant.
Did anyone see Children in Need Rocks or whatever it was called?
